Heard on the radio the other day, referring to umpires, but a propos to a lot of things, I suppose:

"If you want to know what someone's true character is, give them some power."

Heh.

Me: "I picked up the book [Order of the Phoenix] at the Stop-and-Shop with the vegetables. Would have been embarassing if I'd made the book into a salad and started trying to read the Boston lettuce."

Kid brother: "Well, they read tea leaves, right? Why not lettuce leaves?"

gaaaaah.

I thought I was going to be good today. When I woke up at 5am, I made myself busy, cleaning up the house, doing dishes, generally being a good person, then once my brother was off to work, I went, ate breakfast, and sat down to study.

Nodded off in my chair about 11:30, woke up at 12:30 to find my arms were asleep and all rubbery - you know that sense you get that you've got a salami grafted to the shoulder joint? Ick. And I was drooling into my Trusts outline.

So I decided that if I was gonna crash anyway, I'd best take a nap, get back at it fresh.

Three-fifteen and the doorbell rings. Driveway guys who needed the garage door open so they could put finishing touches on a curb meant to control flooding. Aagh.

So far, this day is a push. Accomplished a bit, but not enough so far.

Back to it.
