An off-the-cuff writers' meme

Anyone ever have a line that was just begging to get into a fic, but you couldn't finish the fic, had to cut the line from the fic to make the whole thing work, or just never managed to find a proper circumstance for it?

Just curious. And in my current sleep-deprived state of mind, I'm offering up two examples:

"I want coffee. And I'm talking actual java, none of this double-half-caf-low-fat-foam-latte zappachino L.A. garbage they serve around here."

"It would be so simple to lead this planet into a new renaissance, Crichton. All I'd have to do is issue three edicts and shoot twelve men."
"So go back down and tell the President. I'm sure he'd be thrilled to hear your advice."
"Hmf. He's one of the people I'd have to kill."

Anyone else have any orphaned lines that feel too good to die?

Kinda-sorta. No idea who was going to say them, but these are the ones my subconscious throws up with no intention of following through on even *who* is saying them:

"I'm going to make a necklace out of your fingerbones."

"So you loved him?"
"That's not a fair question..."
"Why?"
"Because I don't know the answer."

... Like your Farscape one there. Heh. The other one could be either Willow or Jack or Daniel, in the right/wrong kinda mood.

The finger-bone thing? Nice all-purpose threat. :) Maybe it's your icon, but I could almost see Miss Parker tossing that one off. The other one has a kind of Buffy flavor to it...

The coffee quote I tossed off was actually originally supposed to be an original character in an Angel fic ... I could see Jack with that kind of attitude. Daniel would find a more intelligently cutting way to make the point, I think, and Willow, well, Willow was always a California girl, well-schooled in mochas and lattes and cappucinos, I thought...
