A life insurance policy's suicide clause is normally only effective over the first two or three years of the policy, based on the logic that beyond that point, the insurance company is satisfied that the policy was purchased in good faith. I know this because I have a friend who sells insurance for a living.

LiveJournal readers don't really have to worry about this, but anyone else who wants to have fun at my expense today, or annoy me in any way whatsoever?

Check your policy to see if there's a suicide clause still in effect.

Doesn't that completely screw over the premise of "Death of a Salesman" then? I guess not, because it's stated that there's a suicide clause in the dialogue, so there must be a suicide clause.

I'm a Philistine; I've never read or seen "Death of a Salesman". But I suspect that either the policy was fairly new, or that Arthur Miller was working under a misconception.

According to my friend in the insurance business, wearing a Yankees cap in Fenway Park on game night might bring a suicide clause into play.

Feeling a tad homicidal today, are you? At least you're giving warning. I'm sure the judge will be understanding.

Trying to think of a cheerful thing, and the best I can do is that Season 7 Stargate starts on Friday. Lame, no?

How 'bout, I would've nominated you for a Stargate x-over award for "Scarab", if I'd known they were doing nominations a month ago? Yours was certainly better than anything that got nominated (with the possible exception of "Actualize This", which is just as good, but way different, I'm thinking).

Combination of sleep coming many hours later than desired, and my day starting an hour before my alarm was due to go off through the demanding acts of others. And warning the world at large that you're on your last working nerve only gives ammunition to the prosecutor arguing for first-degree and the needle.

Stargate ... right. My chances of being able to see that are running less than fifty-fifty, and my chances of taping it are approaching zero. Yankees on the tube. No way to watch one channel and tape another. Satellite dish doesn't allow for that. :(

I didn't even know they were giving out awards for Stargate stuff ... well, in principle, I knew they existed, but no idea. I suppose the story can always be entered next year, right?

See, and the mere fact that you're issuing a warning means you handle your crankiness better than I do! Which, sadly, isn't saying much....

At least NJ took the Stanley cup -- does that cheer you up at all? Or should I just hug you, then get out of range?
