Today is the Winter Solstice.
You wouldn't know it here in Athens from the temperature, although sunset comes very early these days. I was out doing some last-minute shopping to prepare for my annual Christmas trip home, and I found myself shucking my jacket on occasion.
2 days from now, I'll be in New York, probably braving much colder weather. Actually, at this time 2 days from now, I'll probably be somewhere over the Atlantic, in an economy-class seat in a 747, probably trying to either catch some sleep or watch a movie on my iPad.
That'll probably lead to me being awake very early on Christmas Day, thanks to jet lag. Ah, the suffering. :)
After that, a weekend of random gallivanting around The City (probably) with company, a visit to the dentist to fix a chipped tooth, and then a trip down to Baltimore until January 2nd, followed by a last weekend with my family, and then a Sunday-night flight back to Athens via London.
Time passes quickly.
