Maybe coming soonish to a TV screen somewhat near you

So, has anyone on the flist read John Scalzi's Redshirts? (It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's funny and quite smart, and it won last year's Hugo Award for best novel.)

Turns out, there's going to be an attempt to bring it to TV. (Tried twice to attach a link, but something borked the crosspost...)

Could be interesting, especially since it's sort of the flip side of Galaxy Quest, as someone described the novel...

Read it and very much enjoyed it. Don't see how it would work as a TV show, though. I mean, it's very much a book with a beginning, a middle and an end (well, several endings, if you want to get technical). I could see it as a TV movie or a miniseries, sure, but as an ongoing TV show, I have my doubts. I wouldn't mind being proved wrong, though.

The announcement seemed to indicate that it was going to be adapted as a limited series, not an ongoing one. Maybe a sort of extended miniseries of sorts?

I've read it. I'll be interested to see how they adapt it, given how much happens inside the MC's head...
