- Something tells me it won't be easy to find a movie titled "Captain America" in Greece.
- Speaking of Captain America, I submit this.
- Slow day at work. But hey, I've got work.
- Tempted to purchase the latest Dresden Files novel in ebook format, but no clue which format to go for. iBooks won't work on anything but the iPod, Kindle's kind of a locked-down format (but one which would let me read on a computer as well as the iPod or the smartphone I broke down and got), I've got a bad feeling that Barnes & Noble Nook format might be denied me because I'm not Stateside ... anyhoo, I can't do anything until work's over. Well, technically I could, but it wouldn't be right.
- Actually, maybe I should wait until the weekend for Ghost Story? Because my tendency is to start reading and just not stop until I'm done, even when it's turned five in the morning and the sun's coming up and I've got to be at work in a few hours and I'm not asleep yet.
- Oh, yeah: my plans for getting a weekend in the islands are kind of at the mercy of the latest idiocy in Greece: all the taxicabs are on strike. Combine that with track work on the old Athens-Piraeus metro line, and I'm not sure I'd be able to get to Piraeus. Way to go, taxi hacks. Way to go that extra mile when the country needs the tourism dollars so desperately. < /sarcasm >

Date: 2011-07-26 07:52 pm (UTC)Had a slow day at work and bought the ebook to read a bit during lunch. And finished it. Now I've got to re-read to see what I missed the first time through. Also to wonder what's going to happen in the next book...
There's only three rail lines in the entire Athens metro system, and only one of them reaches the port station at Piraeus ... but I checked the metro website, and there might be service running from one of the downtown stations to Piraeus. Maybe. I'll check it this weekend.
As for DW, I've got automatic crossposting set up, and it's unusual for it not to work. Maybe this time it's because of the glitchiness in LJ?
Anyhoo.
