Protests

As all too depressingly usual for Greece, there was another protest. Big one, this time - first working day since the anniversary of that poor kid getting shot by the cops last year. Huge march down one of the main thoroughfares, flanked by hoodlums in hoodies and masks (and some even in gas masks) taking any opportunity they could to smash windows and signs, spill garbage, and light fires. Destruction for destruction's sake, it seems to me.

Like Greece's own version of the Rodney King riots, I thought last year; my firm felt the repercussions, from stores that got burned out by the rioters and had to invoke their civil-unrest clauses in their leases.

Not sure how I'm getting home today - there's supposed to be another protest at 6pm, which may be a bad one. And the office is boxed in by two major roads, both of which are used as protest march routes.
