No spoilers here, because I read something about how cut-tags might be problematic. But did anyone else catch the rather piercing whistle Captain Pike used to break up the bar fight?
Affirmative. :-D And I'm always impressed by piercing whistlers because I can't do it. (Of course, I have another tool for such circumstances. :: points at icon :: )
Ditto, except I don't have the soprano voice to compensate for a whistle which would get lost in background noise.
(Any thoughts on the music? Wasn't sure whether anyone gave a damn, but I'm rather fond of Giacchino's work ... though I have to say I preferred his Spock theme to his main theme, especially when it got reworked into a fanfare.)
(yeah, I stay to the end of the credits, mainly to listen to the orchestra...)
I'm not familiar with him by name, though I'm sure I'll recognize something if I look on IMDb. I wasn't sure about the main theme at first, but it grew on me, and the score overall worked. I'd need to see it again to pay close attention.
We stay to the end of the credits to read, or at least skim, the credits, so the orchestra ends up being secondary even there. :-)
