Is Torrance considered part of Los Angeles? I don't mean officially, but more in a gut-feeling sort of sense.

my gut feeling isn't from California but my gut feeling also sort of lumps almost all of Los Angeles County into Los Angeles. If Pasadena, Pomona and Glendale are L.A. (by that logic) then so is Torrance. I mean, the map sort of says it all for me.

Naturally, mileage may vary in answers from L.A. natives.
