For me it really depends on the width of the street. Anything more than 4 lanes total probably not (and I'd only feel comfortable trying to cross four lanes in that amount of time if I don't have heels on.)
No kidding. There's a reason I use the Metro whenever I can. (When were you here last? Because the Metro's gotten halfway decent in the last four years or so...)
I was there just before the Olympics, so 2004. I remember Syntaugma was still torn up, so I didn't get the chance to see its refurbishment. :( I'm glad the Metro's gotten better! :)
Maybe. Though it might be nice to poke around the waterfront there. Couldn't be worse than getting a business suit caught in the Customs warehouse at the airport. (I swear, the freight terminal there's like the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.)

Date: 2008-06-06 08:12 pm (UTC)And until you mentioned the motorcyclists driving on the sidewalks, I was going to say sounds almost like the DC area drivers...
I hear from my brother, who was in Italy for 2 years, that the Italians drive fairly similarly to what you are saying about the Greek drivers.
I guess you've been there often and long enough that you know how be a pedestrian... still
Good luck! :)
