So got one answer. The Periferia's been shut down for three weeks by a labor strike which has apparently shut down the stock exchange and something like a third of the government.

Oh crap! That's not fair. What does that mean for you?

Means that without a work permit, I'm stuck with the Schengen regulations for entry and exit - can't be in a Schengen country (including Greece) for more than 90 days out of any block of 180. And who knows how long it'll be before the Periferia office is back up and running again.

On the other hand, my citizenship claim got approved at one level or another, so I might be able to go back as a Greek citizen. Don't know what else I've got to do for that yet, either.
