Ugly game, good sportsmanship
Nov. 27th, 2007 10:36 amI don't comment on football much, probably because I don't watch football much. But I saw the last half-minute of the Monday Night Football game last night, and saw something interesting.
Besides the fact that the game was scoreless until Pittsburgh kicked a field goal with twenty seconds left in the game, I mean.
After that, there was a kickoff, and Miami tried to do one of those crazy unending lateral-pass plays, to keep the ball alive as long as possible. Didn't work; not only did the last lateral end up incomplete, but there was a flag for an illegal forward pass. The people in the broadcast booth were saying that the penalty would end the game - I guess that late-game penalties knock time off the clock.
Except Pittsburgh declined the penalty, and gave Miami one last chance.
Lousy game. But good sportsmanship.
