Like an old pair of shoes
Jul. 27th, 2007 11:05 amLast time I came back to Athens, I had to bounce around until they found a space for me. This time, I found the desk they'd found for me, largely untouched (no smart remarks, flist; I cleaned the desk before I returned to New York).
Most of the crew seems to be away at the moment; with the weather in Athens the way it's been, I can't say I blame them.
Still some settling in to be done; need to replenish foodstuffs at the apartment, need to find out what sort of work needs doing at the firm.
Saw my grandmother yesterday, and was shocked at her condition: lethargic, slumped, seeming to be wasting away. Her mind seems to be mostly gone, between senile dementia and stroke damage, with occasional flashes of lucidity. No way to live.
Things change, sometimes at faster paces, sometimes slower...
