So it seems as though it might be just as well that I didn't get back to Athens just yet. Report is that there's a hundred-degree-plus heat wave rolling through, and apparently it's only going to get worse.

That'd be really pleasant in an apartment on an airshaft with no air conditioning. /snark

What's the usual summer temperature there?

Nineties isn't uncommon, but my mother, who was born and grew up there, says that she can't remember it ever being as hot as it is now.
