bktheirregularGot back from the island about an hour and a half ago; still settling in, cooking, getting ready to sleep. More coherent update later.
Short version:
- On balance, the trip was a good thing, even taking depressive slump into account.
- Journey back to Athens: fast, uneventful.
- Lugging a suitcase up Mount Likavitos: not. fun. (Or like I commented to someone watching my efforts from a balcony as I struggled up the steps on Marasli Street: like the Venus De Milo, the staircase was a monumental stone bitch.)
- For the record, I wasn't on the boat that sank in the Santorini caldera Friday.
