Call from the endocrinologist yesterday says my blood chemistry seems to be quite good. Heartening news, but mitigated by major fatigue during the day and sleeplessness at night, which isn't the best combination. May be partly due to my termination, with doctor's advice, of Paxil anti-anxiety meds, and the possible effect that might have on my brain chemistry. (A number of factors led to this decision, including the issue that my insurance company has decided it's not going to cover that med any more.)

NaNo project, "Blue Screen of Revolution", has stalled out completely, partly as a result of said fatigue.

Waiting to hear whether I'm going to be allowed to work in Greece; last communication was that the firm in Athens was working on a work permit, and that they'd keep me posted. Approaching this with my customary faith in bureaucracy, to wit: I'll believe it when I see it.

Will try again to sleep tonight, hopefully before midnight. Will try to update again soon.

Sorry this space hasn't been worth reading for the past little while.

Are you still in New York? Because Wal-Mart has initiated a $4-a-month generic-drug program in participating states, including NY, that covers several strengths of paroxetine, or generic Paxil. It's where I'm getting mine, now that I've decided to take it again. It also covers a few other anti-anxiety meds. Look into it, talk it over with your doctor. Screw insurance if they won't help; it's not like they'd give you a better price, anyway. Take care of yourself!

You're luckier than I am. Once I'm on it, if I suddenly stop taking it, I'm hit by flu-like symptoms and dreams like the Coen brothers on acid.

I'm pretty sure that Graves' Disease is what kicked off my long-term affair with anxiety disorders. It hit when I was a young teen, and I think it just permanently threw my brain chemistry out of whack. Sometimes, I really resent it.
