Interview!

bktheirregularY'know, this Skype thing is working out pretty well. I was walking home from the deli where I'd stopped off to get a two-liter of Coke (note to self: it's less expensive at the grocery, for next time), and all of a sudden my cell phone rang. Turns out that it was someone calling my house, i.e. my Skype number, which forwarded the call on to my cell, which just happened to be on my hip at the time.
Specifically, it was the New York City Commission on Human Rights, wanting to arrange an interview. Which left me scrambling to get down the info; I dropped my PDA's stylus and damaged it, putting some nice scratches into Floyd's screen protective cover (and thank goodness I'd sprung for the acetate overlays, or poor Floyd would have been irreparably damaged), but hey, it was worth it because, hey, interview!
Up until then, my plan on coming home had been to crank the AC, pile ice and Coke into a highball glass, and blog about a plan I had to take a trip out to Chicago, and ask the people on my f-list if they could recommend a decent place to spend a few days other than the Motel 6 out by O'Hare. I'd been planning on taking a train out there, spend a few days or an extra-long weekend, see some sights or what have you, catch up with a lot of people out there, that sort of thing.
Of course, that plan's kind of thrown into limbo, but it's okay. Granted, getting an interview isn't in the same league as getting a job, but hey!
