Well, *that* went well.
Mar. 21st, 2003 04:36 pmEver have one of those days?
3am, submit the biggest work of writing of life to the Stargate fanfic archive at Heliopolis only to find out that a chapter got repeated in the cut-and-pasting. No idea how that's gonna get ironed out.
Then comes morning. Go on the job hunt, literally hitting the bricks. To the old place where a living was once actually earned, only to find out that half the people who are left there are about to get downsized.
It's not just that I can't find a job; the jobs people have are frelling vaporizing. Blamed on spending cuts. Blamed on one particular political party. Not the party running the nation, mind you.
I don't care for the frelling blame game. Need to work, goddamnit!
Oh, and the capper? Get back from the fruitless job hunt to find e-mail that someone loved the fic on Heliopolis and desperately wants to find out what happened after the archive cut off the post a third of the way through.
AIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Ahem.
Please pay no attention to the primal scream coming from the shadow of the George Washington Bridge.
Close entry.

Re: Thanks and thanks and thanks
Date: 2003-03-22 06:47 pm (UTC)As for the miracles - yah. Sucks, but yah. I'm just trying to find *anything* now. Good luck fo you on the same, until you get a Real Life Grown Up Job.
Third: y'know, I always figured that keeping characters in character was something you kinda had to do if you were going to write fanfic in the first place. << snip >> if one hasn't got a decent handle on the character, one's got no business writing the character, has been my opinion...
Hey, ditto ditto ditto. And yet, I scour crossover archives, and so much of it shows only minimal familiarity with one fandom over another... it's sad. I know they can't all be When Hellmouths Collide, but still. Which is why it was ultra-cool to read yours, since I have very very little jarringness along the way, and so much *squee!* over the joy of the interaction going so well.
Heck, "Scarab" only took me two years to plot out and write, and much of that time I spent reviewing SG-1 and Buffy videos eps...
Then I take my hat off to you again for persistence! Go, you!
