Six hours into the work day, minus half an hour for lunch, and nothing in my in-box, nobody asking for help, no onging tasks to be done. I don't know what's worse, the waiting, the guilt, or the generalized nerves.

Or the isolation. Stuck out here in no man's land.

Need contact with other human beings.

Boy, sounds like most of my temp jobs. Fortunately, I hate people, so I can deal with isolation.

Okay, I don't *hate* people--most of the time--but I'm not precisely a people person. I'm more of a dog person. They make more sense most of the time.

Not too pleasant to be the Forgotten Temp. I always think there should be a Dilbert book by that name.

And it would also be a bit nice if there was an intermediate speed between "dead stop" and "full afterburners"...
