Sleep. Can't live without it.

The first mistake was buying the e-book. Not that I couldn't afford it; thankfully, I can afford it. No, the problem was that having purchased and downloaded the e-book, sometime near midnight, I was tempted to read it.

At five in the morning, I was done. I figured I'd end up getting no sleep, so I shouldn't even try.

Which is, of course, when I conked out.

My alarms began ringing at six-forty-five AM.

The math is ugly. But not as ugly as the face that greeted me in the mirror this morning.

May end up having to take half a day off of work just to clear the fatigue poisons out of my system. I've felt a cough coming, and sinus problems; my defenses are strained right now.

You can get the first two ("On Basilisk Station", "The Honor of the Queen", both by David Weber) free at the Baen Free Library - www.baen.com - in web format, various flavors of e-book format, or rich-text format that any good word processor can read and print.

The series gets rather overwhelming as you go deeper in, but the first couple of books are quite good.
