Need to take five. Not complaining about general secretarial duties at all, but have been slogging through a handwritten draft from Mr. Smaug, whose bad handwriting is legendary. Comes a point where I feel like Giles in the nightmare episode of "Buffy", when he discovered that he couldn't read. And I'm wondering if staring too long at bad handwriting can cause eye damage like what's supposed to happen if you stare too long at a computer screen or a TV, or read in low-light conditions for too long.

One of the other worker drones came up, saw me squinting at the draft, and commented that Mr. Smaug may not be able to help it, because of a shoulder injury.

Great. So not only do I feel guilty about the comments about handwritten Klingon, but I still can't read what's been written.

Nah. It just means he's been able to get away with it for years. My old boss had ATROCIOUS handwriting. One year at the Holiday Party, we did a pretend "Jeopardy" game. The double-jeopardy question: "This is handwriting... and it says WHAT?"

And if it's "legendary" - it's got NOTHING to do with the shoulder injury. Betcha it's not even the shoulder for his writing arm.
