God, I think, must hate me.
Sep. 8th, 2004 01:23 pmExhibit A: it's raining today.
Exhibit B: I got underway at 8:30am for a 10am appointment and almost immediately hit a traffic jam going zero MPH before I could even cross the Hudson River.
Exhibit C: The two-hour trip into the city meant that I couldn't grab a parking spot at the garage where my dad has a monthly permit, but had to park much closer, at a pay lot.
Exhibit D: When I got to the building, the guard at the door gave me a hard time about showing my ID (remember my hassle way back when with my driver license?) because it wouldn't scan on his scanner thingy.
Exhibit E: I had to wait 45 minutes at the temp agency for a five-minute chat. (I know, I was a half hour late, but the whole frelling city was chaos...)
Exhibit F: When I got out and got the car, the parking fee was thirty-one dollars.
So, counting gas and tolls, it cost me over forty bucks to maybe get a temp job. And it's raining.
Some days, life just bites.
ETA: oh yeah. Like a moron, I forgot to grab my cell phone, which tripled the complications...
