Connection problems
Aug. 24th, 2004 11:46 pmWe were having router problems for most of the past week or so - the router would go down every day, sometimes twice a day.
My brother bankrolled a new router (802.11b, not too expensive), and I installed it. Seemed to work rather well.
Except that now my laptop doesn't seem to want to talk to it, or it doesn't want to give Cortana access to the Internet. Odd, because every other wired computer on the home net is working great, and my brother's beat-up old laptop is doing just ducky with its wireless.
I can't figure it. Maybe something to do with the fact that the router's in the basement, near the fuse box, and it's got a tiny rinky-dink antenna?
*sigh*
ETA: sorry for double post. Dealing with that now. And I don't know whether it was the extended reset of the cable modem, or the router picking up on my increasing desire to trade it in for a Linksys/Cisco, but it now seems to be behaving...
