On the subject of job searches, no strike that, it's a hunt complete with dragging down and eating.

There appears to be some kind of weird law of nature that a Fixed (but
unspecified)number of contacts, interviews, resumes, etc. must be reached before the warp and woof of reality is distorted sufficiently by their density to put the negative effects of entropy in abeyance.

Put somewhat more simply, at some point you're liable to get 3 job offers in one day. True. From multiple experience.

Meanwhile, starve the imagination and feed the will. Work at something physical or mental that will let you get rid of the inevitable tension and depression. Keep at it and try not to let family or other helpful (their point of view, not necessarily yours) sorts get you down.

It's your job to find that job and you're working at it, by God!
