The heat is on
Jun. 17th, 2004 01:34 pmGot the lead out and finally put in the window A/C in my office window. Managed it without carving up my hands this time around, and no hernias - a rolling computer chair is a very good tool for moving the A/C around, though the chair's now got dirt and grime all over it.
Dirt and grime. Is that redundant?
Down side: I haven't got a working A/C in my car. Which, in this weather, makes for brutal conditions. Humidity's around a hundred percent, temperature's up into the nineties...
...and I should probably stop whinging about it. At least I have a roof over my head.
Need to make a plan for the weekend: have got to kick it into another gear on the job hunt. Also have to do fics that were promised ages ago, dating back to when I was preparing for the bar exam in July.
That plus I'm suddenly the cook again. That plus I've got an appointment in the city for an hour and a half starting at 6:30pm, plus an hour and a half to get in and find parking, plus an hour for the drive back home ... suddenly I don't have nearly as much free time as I thought I did...

Date: 2004-06-18 12:16 am (UTC)Dirt: n. Earth or soil.
Grime: n. Black dirt or soot, especially such dirt clinging to or ingrained in a surface.
Since dirt is used in the definition of grime, I'd say it's a definite tautology!
