(Apologies to the late great Douglas Adams.)

So I finished the seminar that completes my Continuing Education requirements to remain a member in good standing of the New York bar. Submit my paperwork to the courts and I'm golden, right?

(Anyone who answered "yes" to that, you'll be pleased to know you're even more doomed than I am.)

Well, there's a form to fill out to tell the courts that I did what they demanded. Form can only be gotten pursuant to a written request. So I've got to write to the courts in order to get the form to send to the courts.

Looks like I may need to stay Stateside another week even if the work permit paperwork goes through. *headdesk*

Like the man said.

Booked a flight, Southwest from Islip to Chicago Midway, arriving Friday, May 11, at about four-thirty Central time. Planning to catch the Lakeshore Limited to New York late Sunday night, see what it's like to take a long-distance train trip.

When it comes right down to it, I've got time for it now, while I'm waiting for the paperwork to clear in Athens, and I have no idea if or when I'll have another chance to do so. (Plus I'm finally going to get my back pay from the firm.)

Still got some planning to do beyond "wing it". Museum of Science and Industry Saturday, I think. Got a week and a half to plan.

(Anyone have experience flying Southwest? Any suggestions for preparations for a two-and-a-half-hour flight?)
