I'm horrible with dates. Whether they be of the fruit kind, the romance kind, the calendar kind, or what have you.

So of course I forgot.

A thought and a note

A lot of people choose picture icons in order to show their mood in comments on LJ.

I tend to forget about that sometimes, and leave my default icon in place.

So if you see Jon Stewart looking confused and annoyed, please don't think that matches my mood?

...and now, officially, crap.

Tried to do a little tinkering with the PC today. Picked up a larger hard drive so I could do TiVo-like things with my PC, and in the process of trying to transfer my system over to the new drive, the whole thing shut down in mid-transfer.

And then Windows XP did this thing where it wouldn't let me log in. Couldn't get into safe mode, so I couldn't do System Restore. I am trying now to do a procedure to repair my installation, and it looks like it's tearing down the OS and rebuilding it from scratch. Or something.

At least if worse comes to worst, I should be able to dump my documents into an external hard disk and start over from point zero.
