Check the front page of CNN.com - I'm talking right now.

Then look at this article.

Are you registered to vote?

If not, get out there and register. Now.

Election Day is November 2nd.

A Presidential election has never been postponed, even during the Civil War, when the city of Washington was perilously close to hostile territory.

November 2nd. If your country means anything to you anymore? Get out there and vote!

I'll be at the polls. Terror threats or Homeland Security directives notwithstanding. Come hell or high water, I'm going to the polls November 2nd, and I want nothing to do with anyone who stays home that day.

ETA: (12-Jul-04 15:30 EDT) It's been moved off to the side. But they've still got a poll up. Let 'em know what you think, is my advice.

From the Washington Monthly blog.  Senator John Conryn (R-TX):

"It does not affect your daily life very much if your neighbor marries a box turtle.  But that does not mean it is right. ... Now you must raise your children up in a world where that union of man and box turtle is on the same legal footing as man and wife."

I had a momentary flash of insight: I know at least one native Texan on my friends list who probably would find a box turtle preferable to the Senator from Texas.  I refuse to answer any questions on the grounds that said Texan knows exactly where to send the assassins...
