Job still on hold.

Called the temp agency this morning and they said they were still waiting to hear from the client. As this is the best hit I've gotten in a year, I want to keep the decks clear for this ... but it gets annoying and troublesome when I'm left hanging by my fingernails...

Updates and updates

Got my car insurance bill in the mail today, and as half-expected, they're trying to bleed me pretty badly. I know NJ is supposed to have the worst car insurance rates in the nation, but it's getting a little ridiculous.

Luckily, one of my old first aid squad partners runs an insurance agency, so I was able to call in and combine making an appointment over insurance with catch-up over life and such.

Good news: He just became a father for the second time in January, and his life is looking pretty good.

Sorta good news: His cousin, another former first aid squad partner of mine, is getting married.

Not so good news: Cousin's wedding, originally scheduled for August, is being pushed up to the end of March. This is occasioned by the cousin's New Jersey National Guard supply/support batallion being called up for active duty.

You get one guess where the unit's being deployed.
