An announcement

Insects make me nervous.

Flying insects in close proximity make me flinch.

Stinging flying insects give me the heebies.

Wasps and hornets and yellowjackets reduce me to fight-or-flight responses. I know they're supposed to serve a noble purpose and all that, and intellectually I can appreciate that, but if one of those things buzzes me, I have a deep-seated need to discourage it with as much force as I can muster, up to and including high explosives.

I just saw something crawling along the edge of my bed, ducking down the side of the matress. After searching the bedroom and taking my bed apart, I haven't been able to determine where the thing went to ground.

Something tells me I won't be sleeping too well tonight...

Well, that went well.

I don't remember my alarm going off. That's how far gone I was. Mystery insect didn't show itself again, not while I was conscious, anyway, so it might have been my imagination. End result: got up to see a very dreary day outside and a head full of steel wool inside.

Oh yeah. Gonna be a great day.
