Huh. Well, whaddaya know about that.
Feb. 8th, 2003 05:38 pmMany happy returns, Perri! Even had an idea for a present to put together, except that it seems Windows Movie Maker (boo hiss) is gonna be distilling clips until your next birthday. Assuming it doesn't take the Frankintel and melt it down on my desk.
Odd stuff:
Who woulda thunk it? I did a search on Stan Rogers through Google and Due South came up. I've always loved "Barrett's Privateers," and reading a tidbit about Fraser singing the chanty to distract a bunch of pirates, now I want to see it. Ah well. Can't have everything.
Oh, and another music rec: "The Wreck of the Athens Queen." Part of Stan Rogers' "Fogarty's Cove" album, if it can be found. Take one freighter, one spit of land by the name of "Ripper Rock", one group of totally sozzled scavengers complete with dories, one cow, forty cases of brandy, two hundred chickens, and one green couch; mix well with the neck of a folk guitar, and get ready for some belly laughs.
For another laugh, try a Farscape rec: Give a Monkey a Brain and He'll Swear He's the Center of the Universe. Spoilers for "Terra Firma". And bipartisan bashing. Plus D'Argo and the Amazing Stun Tongue. Good for numerous laughs.
For what it's worth.
Oh, and once again, happy birthday, Perri!
Close entry.
