Pick five, or ten, or more, of your fic titles. List them in your journal and explain how you came up with each one. Post this prompt as well, so that the meme spreads.
I bite at titles. I'm gonna pick five or so, for oddness, or things that struck me.
"Moonwalk" -- I wanted to make this a challenge, to create a fic that somehow referenced Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon. Nobody ever bit, but the title felt ... okay.
"The Carton" -- Sometimes I just like a prosaic name that still cuts deep. The image of the child on the milk carton being the vampire at the end of a stake is still a powerful one, I think.
"Hook, Line, Sinker" -- This one might have been a bit deceptive, in that it wasn't at all about deception. It was all about the fishing.
"Fourteen Pulsars" -- That's what the "welcome signs" on the Pioneer and Voyager probes use to indicate the location of Earth. Since the fourteen pulsars were so important to the fic, I used them as the title.
"The Scarab" -- Just going with the simple, which I justified by looking at a number of "Stargate" episode titles. It also meant that the fic had a title character, which wasn't too bad - and it didn't reveal too much, too early. (Of course, it would have helped if I'd thought of that title before having posted six chapters under a new title...)
Close entry.

Eh, I've already ribbed you enough about that. "The Scarab" is a better title. :)
