I'm still reeling over my encounter with Orwell's world at the local Kings.

I mean ... Liberty Onion Soup?

Is there anyone on the friends list who thinks this is a little out of kilter?

Lemme rephrase that. Does anyone out there think it's right to refer to French onion soup as "Liberty Onion Soup"?

I mean ... Liberty Onion Soup?

I thought it was a joke. I kid you not, I went past the soups three times to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me, and there it was every time.

Liberty.

Onion.

Soup.

It's just wrong on so many levels that my mind's boggling at the concept.

I think my head may have actually exploded when the concept penetrated into my brain.

Liberty Onion Soup.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I need a drink. Maybe I should go to the liquor store and see if they've got any Victory Gin in stock.

I want to eat Victory CROW!

Or perhaps that is the preferred meat of our illustrious President, who has (I kid you not) declared May Day Loyalty Day (http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/04/20040430-15.html).

You heard it here first - or perhaps not (http://www.livejournal.com/users/azurelunatic/3507722.html).

Thus, among other things, earning the heartfelt vomit of pagans everywhere. >-P

Yeah, I was just thinking.
Hm, I'm sure he's trasked the birthdays of various Buddhas too. (I forget how many there are prophesized to be, but I remember [livejournal.com profile] tamf's husband, the Ent of [livejournal.com profile] teunc, quoting a fairly a large number, so the Pigeonhole Principle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pigeonhole_principle) might rule there.)

*nods* Most likely others too. A lot of major holidays seem to coincide a lot -- probably a combination of the Pigeonhole Principle and some element of common prehistoric cultural roots (if probably less than some people like to see).
