YES!!! I discovered this last year. It rocked my world.
Also, Southwest has no assigned seating. They do a modified first-come-first-served, with everyone's boarding pass bearing an A, B or C according to the order in which they checked in. It translates to people standing in three lines way ahead of when boarding starts instead of one, which isn't much better. But if you're willing to stand for a bit, you can nab the exit row pretty handily.
Dammit. If that's true, flying to Vegas with a friend of mine (who has severe back problems and needs the leg room) is going to be a NIGHTMARE... urgh. (At least we had that for Chicago last year.)
