I lost track of every frelling thing I needed in order to get in motion in the morning, and lost half an hour tracking it all down. Finally succeeded, though.
Got in to the campaign office, and everyone was stressed over monies that had piled up over the past few days. Cripes, I picked the wrong day to not start smoking oregano.
Had to bail early because of a pressing engagement in the City; escaped, found a post office to drop off official Save The World Inc. mail, got home, brain went kaput, and I ended up scrambling all over again to find everything I needed.
Then I found out too late that some poor schmo had gotten T-boned by a super-semi on the George Washington Bridge (I wanted to say the GWB, but these days, that's scarily ambiguous). Lost half an hour there, was fifteen minutes late to my appointment.
Oh, yeah. And when I took off my glasses in order to clear a bit of schmutz off the left lens, one of the ear pieces came off in my hand. Which left me with a broken pair of glasses with which to drive into and out of the city. And less than 48 hours to fix it before flying out.
Finally managed to get to a Pearle store, where they told me that the frame was shot (owie!) but that they had one pair left of that model frame, which they could fit my lenses into. Which they did. With some speed.
So it turned out to be not quite so bad after all.
