A thought on a more serious note

Talked with the folks today; they're vacationing in Greece now, only two countries away from Iraq and the inferno.

Dad told me something that sounded silly to me when he said it: "you are now the guardian of the family's honor."

I didn't say anything, but in my mind I just went huh?

Then he went on: as an American overseas, he "can look people in the eye because you're working to change things."

Or words to that effect.
