Is it immature of me to have decided that I will not listen to the President addressing the nation regarding the capture of Saddam Hussein?

I'm rather ill today, but just in general, I'd rather read the speech than hear it.

Close entry.

For once I actually tuned in instead. It was short and not deeply embarassing.

To summarize the Shrub: "This is a good thing. Iraqis: You can relax. USA: Nice job, but it's not over yet."

Not nearly as bad as I thought (nor as bad as Wolf Blitzer's tabloid-esque questions to the CNN guy-on-location)... and here I'd hit CNN hoping for some non-exploitative reporting.
WB: "Did Sadaam having a gun on him suggest that maybe he planned to die rather than surrender? Or maybe to brutally take out anyone who tried to come for him?"
GoL: "Um, well, as I just finished saying, Wolf, the guy was incoherant and disoriented and put up no resistance at all."
WB: "But might it not have turned into some hideous blood-spattered massacre worthy of the end scene of, say, your average VanDamme flick?"
GoL: "Uh, not really..."
WB: "...gore-covered civillians running for cover as the US Troops decend en masse, led by a lone rebel with machine guns blazing away, bucking the system in order to dispense his own brand of needlessly-destructive and explosive justice?"
GoL: "Look, the guy was huddled in a hole in the ground, mumbling to no one, and came out without a fight. O.K.?"
WB: "Not even a little carnage?"
GoL: "Get over it already."
