Jul. 31st, 2003 10:22 pm1. Go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice before starting law school.
Hm ... Only one? Well, most of the things that went sour for me in law school were unavoidable - but one thing would have helped, so:
Self, talk to the parental units about splitting 50/50 on a new ultralight laptop before you start law school. That way, you'll have all your notes in a convenient readable format, rather than having seven spiral books full of notes from the first year. It'll make a difference come bar time.
(Second choice would be: Self, you got accepted to law school two days ago, and your good friend is coming over for lunch this afternoon. Skip the ambulance call. You'll save yourself a lot of back problems, and you'll be driving to school in an ultra-cool T-top turbocharged sports car instead of a nondescript cruiser.)
2. What one thing do too many women worry about that they shouldn't?
Hm ... at the risk of getting filleted, I'd have to say weight fluctuations of five pounds or less. That's maybe three percent of body weight on an athletic person, and the male eye is not accurate enough to even notice changes that subtle. At least my male eye isn't.
3. If you could bribe a Horsechick into writing a fic for you, what fandom would it be in and what character(s) would it center on? Oh, and which HC would you so bribe?
(Oy, I gotta choose? Fine, but who's gonna explain why the Horsechicks gathering in NYC ended up with a prospective lawyer clawed to ribbons?)
OK, if there was a gun to my head ... I loved Kiki's Powers-that-Be office-space fics, and it would be wonderful to see more of that gang, dealing with ramifications from the end of "Buffy" and "Angel" ... but to be honest, I'm so fried I can't hardly think of a fandom I'd like to see fic in right now...
4. Firefly DVDs are coming out in December (YAY!). If you could pick one cast member to do a commentary, who would talk about which ep?
Morena Baccaron re: "Heart of Gold" narrowly edges out Adam Baldwin re: "Jaynestown" or "Ariel."
5. How do you feel about the fact that you have the coolest RL name *ever*? Seriously, I'm naming a character after you some day.
You're saying that just because I'm trying to erase all evidence of my middle name. *snerk* I'm OK with my first and last name, I suppose. Feel free to use it.
(Two things I've noticed: at the local Blockbuster, whenever I hand over my driver's license to get a rental, the guy has commented that I've got "a superhero's name" - maybe the Bruce Wayne/Batman/Dark Knight thingy? That's one. And two, if I Google my name, I get a lot of hits for a lot of people who aren't me. So I think I'm fairly safe... *g*)
