Work ended today - Monday I rejoin the ranks of the unemployed, though this time, hopefully for not too long. It's sorta deliberate on my part, tho' - at the strong urging of the folks at BAR/BRI, Monday begins the intensive study period for the bar. 23 or 24 days, something like that.
Hopefully it'll all be worth it. In the meantime, bar review classes are kinda like the Aurora Chair would be if it were boring.
Lessee ... never did a Friday Five before or anything like that ... poached this from Tara LJC, hope she doesn't mind. :)
1. As a child, who was your favorite superhero/heroine? Why?
Hm. As a child ... either Superman or the Lone Ranger. Probably because I wasn't exposed to too many others as a kid - no access to comic books. Superman I knew through the movies, the Lone Ranger from the old movie I saw when I was too young to realize that it bit, plus the old classic radio cassette tapes.
I actually didn't discover comic books until college.
2. What was one thing you always wanted as a child but never got?
A model aircraft carrier made by one of Lego's competitors. I don't remember why.
3. What's the furthest from home you've been?
The West Bank of the Jordan, or perhaps floating in the Dead Sea. The rumors are true: if you stand straight up, stiff as a board, floating in the Dead Sea, the water is so dense it pushes you up above your shoulders. I was there the year before the first intifada began, with my family; the tensions weren't nonexistent, but Israel and the West Bank were in a peaceful circumstance that I don't think they've recaptured since.
4. What's one thing you've always wanted to learn but haven't yet?
How to fly - I mean an airplane, or even a helicopter, for real. I've noodled with flight simulators, but half the time when I try to land one of those it ends in an embarrasing *crunch*.
5. What are your plans for the weekend?
Saturday will be taken up with a practice test for bar review. Sunday will be consumed by an at-home practice test. Monday I turn in the bar review test and go home and wait for my brain to implode.
Close entry.
