State of the irregular

Not helped by firm partner in next office over who throws screaming tantrums at subordinates at least twice a week without bothering to close the door, or by office climate system that bounces from too-cold to sweltering-hot. (Common refrain: "Why are your doors closed?" Unspoken response: "Because your door isn't.") Relying on music in earbuds, played louder and louder, to screen out the screaming.
Demands on time are to be expected. Insistence that everyone else in office be turned away while your demands are still pending? Not so much. Everybody's got deadlines, everyone expects help now.
Got bad enough that last Friday, the one screaming obscenities in the office was me. That almost never happens. Had to be restrained from storming into office next door and unloading on screaming partner.
Getting headaches threatening to escalate into low-level migraines. Had prismatic hallucinations yesterday which blocked out the center of my vision and left me unable to read for about fifteen minutes.
National economic breakdown not helping, either. Got emergency property tax bill which was tacked onto electric bill; nothing quite brings an economic crisis home like one utility bill exceeding half your take-home income for the month. Have been slowly building up savings, to guard against a rainy day; guess it's raining. At least my budget doesn't have to cover rent payments any more, or mortgage payments. Extraordinarily lucky on that score.
Slowly realizing I've fallen almost completely out of fandom, to my dismay. Also out of practice on creative writing, but when the work schedule is such that leaving at 8:30pm feels like skating out early, and being in the office until 11pm isn't out of the question, time's at a bit of a premium.
