Magical unrealism, or so it seems
Sep. 13th, 2011 07:12 pmCall from colleague:
"Are you involved with anything urgent?"
"Working through my backlog, nothing time-critical."*
"Good; that's exactly what I wanted to hear. I've got a translation I need done, urgently."
"How big is it, and how long do I have?"
"About ten pages, and I need it soon ... tomorrow, or Thursday at the latest."
"Guess I'd better push aside what I've got, then. Looks like I'll have to take this one home with me if I'm going to have it ready by tomorrow."
"No, no; not by the beginning of tommorrow, by end of business. I'll bring the original with me when I get back to the office."
That was ... four-ish? Five-ish?
It is now quarter past seven in the evening, and no sign of said colleague or said original. So I can't exactly get started on it.
*You'd think I'd know better by now...
