Better to be prepared and not need it
Nov. 18th, 2010 12:18 pmSo it turned out that there wasn't much to yesterday's protests beyond loudness. It couldn't have hurt that there was a heavy rainstorm right about the time the protests were supposed to kick off.
Heard reports of some tear gas being used against some of the crowds at the embassy, but nothing much. The embassy's a touchy spot, I suppose; the authorities don't want to entirely suppress people voicing displeasure, but on occasion some people have crossed the line and expressed their displeasure with rocket launchers.
And with my windows closed and music playing, I couldn't hear anyway.
So, all in all, it didn't go so badly.
