The small neighborhood bank at the south side of town (in the DC suburbs of Virginia) has had an airlock as long as I can remember. I was startled by it at first (as the banks on the Other Side of the Beltway still don't have 'em), but I got used to it. Still hope I don't get stuck inside, ever, though.
In DC, it's the bicycles that use the pavement willy-nilly - although in the burbs, the occasional moped-on-sidewalk is starting to become a problem.
As the world becomes more integrated, so do all the little annoyances of life!
