Ten-minute fic

Reading missives from the Mary Sue Society, and attendant LJ's, this came to me at approximately one in the morning. Working title: "Justifiable".

She was too pretty even for Los Angeles. Gold-colored hair that glistened in the early morning light, brilliant blue eyes that were open wide and beckoning, a physique to make the most skilled plastic surgeon despair, clad in a dress designed to stop traffic. In her handbag were cards from any number of powerful people, and a hand-tooled diary with phone numbers for half the stars in Hollywood. It was all evidence of a life that most people only wished they could live.

Joe Friday looked at the driver's license, identifying her as Mary Sue Crawford of Dallas, Texas, and sighed sadly. "Somebody didn't like this woman," he commented to no one in particular, and began to count bullet holes again.

But... but her eyes are some strange combination that doesn't happen in nature, like, "Sapphire blue with flecks of auburn"!

And all I can think of is an Ambrose Bierce quote that I adore. "There are four kinds of homicide: Felonous, treasonous, justifiable, and praise-worthy." This one... definitely comes under "praise-worthy".

It was one in the morning. I knew I should have done something different. Ah well ... if I'd been awake I probably wouldn't have thought of it in the first place.

Hee! Just goes to show that some of the most amusing flashes of inspiration can come in the wee hours of the morning...

Just came down off a bit of a rant, so thanks, I needed the laugh. :)

Glad I could help. :) Saw the rant, and yeah, too many people feel a sense of entitlement. And a lack of understanding of how Real Life can intrude...

Speaking of which, any luck beating your demons into submission?
