Slightly offbeat update

I've gotten used to managing in Athens without a car. It's often struck me as more trouble than it's worth, in the main, what with high gas prices (double what you find Stateside even at the worst) and restrictions such as banning cars from the city center based on their license numbers (even cars one day, odd cars the next). The metro's not as extensive as the New York subway, but I can get around okay.

On the other hand, there are times when being self-propelled is a very good thing. Granted, they're not all that often, but they're there.

So it was with a bit of ambivalence that I learned that one of my cousins is going to transfer the title of an old Alfa Romeo sedan into my name.
