Health scares and other dren

bktheirregularGot an e-mail today from someone who was asking me to get it in gear on a Farscape fic that I started back when Farscape was in its fall hiaitus. *sigh* It's one of those things that gets totally messed up. What with work, what with studying for the bar, what with the creative juices getting drained.
I come home from work too tired to think, some days.
Oh, and there's another worry, in case it never was mentioned before. I'm gonna get to it the long way 'round, so I hope you can bear with me...
My dad asked me to spec out a new laptop computer for him. Something he can use comfortably to familiarize himself once again with the state of the art in computing.
He's looking to have it available for use next month. So that he can practice on it while convalescing.
From prostate cancer surgery.
He didn't mention it at first, just talked obliquely about health problems, concerns he had. I had to pry it out of Mom that what had happened was a test that indicated the possibility of the cancer.
He goes in for surgery at the end of February.
Right around the time I'm sitting for the bar.
You think that might be the slightest bit distracting? :(
