neonhummingbird via the rest of the friends list, it seems.
1. What's on your bedside table?
Odd question, because my bedside table is an extension of a bookshelf. Right now, about twenty assorted books, eight or so DVD's, a box of Kleenex, a rewritable mini-CD, and assorted bric-brac.
2. What's the geekiest part of your music collection?
My movie and TV soundtracks. Which make up eighty-five percent of the collection, so maybe I'd have to say the Trek soundtracks.
What do you eat/drink when you raid your fridge at night?
These days, not much with the raiding, but if I'm thirsty, apple juice if available, then ginger ale, then tonic water.
What is your secret guaranteed weeping film?
The only one I could think of at the moment would be The Return of the King. Though Iron Giant does come close...
5. If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
I was going to say remove a scar from my left hand. But now I come to think of it, just about every problem I see in myself, plastic surgery has an unacceptable risk of making it worse.
6. Do you have a completely irrational fear?
Stinging insects, especially wasps.
7. What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moments?
There's probably a laundry list, but when I'm driving and I'm nervous, I tend to hunch over very close to the steering wheel, as though it would give me a better view of the road.
8. Do you ever have to beg?
Never got me anything except more grief, so what's the point?
9. Do you have too many love interests?
I'd say I don't have enough.
10. Do you know anyone famous?
One Hugo Award nominee, though whether he's famous is debatable. I also know a guy who was on Nixon's Enemies List.
11. Describe your bed.
Inherited from my brother. Simple, straight-edged wood design, fitting into a bookcase against one wall, so my headboard is essentially the bookcase. At the moment, green comforter cover, two pillows (synthetic down).
12. Spontaneous or plan?
Spontaneous in making plans, let's say. I may decide on a whim to do something, and then plan out the execution rather thoroughly.
13. Who should play you in a movie about your life?
I dunno. Closest I can think of is maybe Wil Wheaton.
14. Do you know how to play poker?
The mechanics, yes. But I'm an inexperienced tyro when it actually comes to cards in hand.
15. What do you carry with you at all times?
Wallet with cash, cards, ID's; keychain with house key, multiple car keys, button LED flashlight.
16. How do you drive?
Fairly well. Only ever got one speeding ticket in my life.
17. What do you miss most about being little?
Lost chances to be happier.
18. Are you happy with your given name?
Meh. I'm OK with my first and last name. My middle name has never given me anything but grief, though.
19. What color is your bedroom?
White and natural wood.
20. What was the last song to which you were listening?
An obscure one. "Late Goodbye" by Poets of the Fall. Very obscure, but good.
21. Have you ever been in a school play?
In high school, I was the loutish overprotective father of the hero's girlfriend in "Ah, Wilderness".
22. Have you ever been in love?
Yes. Several times. Want to see the scars?
23. Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?
On good days, I believe in myself. On bad days, I wonder whether I'm kidding myself. Working on trying to like myself, because there are parts of me that I despise.
24. Have you ever done any illegal drugs?
No. Scared senseless of the lot of them.
25. Do you think you're cute?
Some say yes. I've never been able to agree.
26. Do you consider yourself a nice person?
Every day, I try to be a nice person. Some days, I succeed.
