Bullies

I was a target of bullies in school for about six years. To this day, I refuse to have anything to do with any school acquaintance from before eighth grade, when my folks pulled me out of that school and into a different school.

More paperwork

After a check with the authorities in Athens, it turns out that one of the mid-level government agencies (I don't know which) wants a copy of my birth certificate on file. Apparently the one that is already on file in the borough of Filothei, where my birth is registered for Greek government purposes, won't suffice.

On the one hand, I've got an impact-printed birth certificate that I got in fifteen minutes last summer, that I'm going to FedEx over this afternoon. On the other hand, if they demand a birth certificate with all the notarizations and apostille seals and official translations, that's going to take the better part of a month.

Offices in Athens are only open half a day today. Tomorrow everything's closed for Independence Day.

And every day I'm stuck here in New York is another day I'm not getting paid for working in Athens, while my rent and utilities bills continue to pile up.
