More moving preparations
Apr. 6th, 2006 11:55 pmSold another car today - that's the last set of wheels we had to get rid of. Tomorrow comes the dive into Craigslist to sell off furniture that won't fit in the apartment.
Swinging between being excited about the move (discovered the other day: facilities which include a small gym on the 38th floor of the next-door tower, with a to-die-for view of the East River looking north towards Yankee Stadium, with a solarium opposite with an equally gorgeous view south towards the Verrazano Narrows) and depressed about what's being left behind (gorrammit, they're tearing down the house I grew up in!).
Worked yesterday, earning money for typing numbers into a computer. I honestly have not the first clue what the numbers meant. Ah, well; more incentive to pound on doors to law offices starting a week from tomorrow. And maybe to get some business-card stock and print myself a few new cards.
Have come to slow realization that I'm not going to be able to watch all the Battlestar eps I recorded onto the DVR before the move, which could be a problem in as how the device is a DirecTV-specific box, and we're switching to Time Warner because there's no place to hang a satellite dish in the apartment. So, I'm half a season behind, with slim prospects for catching up (unless I can finagle a cable jack to plug into the back of my tower PC so I can catch 'em in reruns), which really bites 'cause while waiting for a bus into Manhattan this afternoon, I had an inkling of an idea for the next tale of the good ship Gooney Bird.
But that's a story for another day. G'night, all.
