Logic vs. emotion
Mar. 14th, 2006 12:15 amLogically, it shouldn't make any difference to me what happens to this house after I move away. It won't be my issue; this place won't be my residence any more.
Emotionally, though ... I hate the thought of someone taking a wrecking ball to my home. This is what it must have felt like when Ebbetts Field was demolished ... only on a much more personal level.
I move out April 18, but this house, with all its quirks and foibles, is my home, and has been for decades. And even if I won't be living here any more, it feels like I'll be leaving part of myself behind.
And that part of me will die when they tear down my home.
